Student project by Maximov. Pretty frickin’ nice.
Kinetic Typography + Jonathan Coulton = Awesomepants
Jonathan Coulton is responsible for a key element of one of my favorite games – the song “Still Alive” at the end of Portal. He is the nerd song king. This song is “a triumph, huge success” also!
Really awesome typography animation brings this song to a whole new level of awesomeness. (The maps sequence is super clutch) Kudos to Jarrett on what he says (in the YT comments) is his first animation project!

One Year in Cycling
Once again, a personal project rears its ugly head (which reminds me, I better get back on the Speed Poetry Challenge wagon!). This one involved looking at stats from a new passion of mine – cycling.
You can read a little about it here.

This work from Eric Arnstein & Jeff Ryan combines two of my favorite things – creativity and bikes!

When I first saw it, I knew I just had to have it. It was available for a steal from Amazon. Beautiful piece of art from Marion Bataille.

Which way in to your shimmering tower?
Talk about an awesome way-finding system. This rockin’ signage is in the Eureka Tower Carpark in Melbourne – just be in the right position in the right place and you can see perfectly which way to go. Bunch of photos at Axel Peemoller‘s (the designer) site, showing angles where letters are stretched out and sexy.

More typography goodness
I peeped this the other day and filed it away with the Pulp Fiction classic. Then I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a place that was compiling all these?” And lo-and-behold, Neatorama once again pointed me to the right path. There’s a bunch of scenes told through typography right here.
